Mondays: $1 burgers(sliders) Fridays: $9 for a 1/2lb burger (dressed as you want or topped like one of their specialty offerings, e.g. black and blue, mushroom and swiss, etc.) with fries and a pitcher of beer = #unbeatable Electrically scored dart board, pool table, golden T, at least one other bar game I'm forgetting, multiple HD tv's, a TouchTunes jukebox, accountable proud ownership, and an amicable staff - need I say more? I've only been in BR for a month, but I've made sure to visit Brightside more than any other establishment, certainly, every Friday at least. If you want a well-cooked, tasty burger, crisp perfectly-seasoned fries, cold beers, and an incomparable atmosphere, go here -- you won't regret it.

I love dive bars so this place was a real treat. I went here for the first time this weekend to accept an everclear shot challenge from a bartender (long story). The look and feel of the place reminded me of one of my other favorites - port royal. Drink prices are excellent as they were running a $5 pitcher special. I ordered a southwestern chicken sandwich and my friend got a burger. Both were surprisingly good! The sandwich was huge and had a lot more flavor than you would expect from a dive bar. Onion rings were crispy and delicious. The bar had a good mix of people who were all friendly and chatty. I'll definitely have to add brightside to my dive bar rotation!

Ya know, I was skeptical about going to this place until I had a hankering for a roast beef poboy. I found that a couple people said that they had a good one. I ventured off and came to a place that was very busy and the server was behind a bit. No biggie, just patiently waited at the bar. The owner came up to take my order and about 20 mins later my delicious debris poboy arrived. I found it dry and asked for gravy. The fries were crisp and my dining partner got the burger with onion strings. The onion strings made me jealous I didn't get them. It's not fancy, but the food was spot on. I'll be back...tomorrow maybe?

I've only been here on Wednesday's for Karaokae and never actually partaken of the food here but if you are looking for somewhere to go on wednesday's for a great time, go here!! The karaoke is basically blown out the water by the awesome DJ and I love getting my "dance on" to the most up to date music there is! It does get packed around 11 and stays that way til two...There is an awesome outdoor patio where you can just chill which offers a nice break from the packed interior....Brightside offers $1 shot specials on wednesdays and there are about 4 variety's to choose from....I definitely recommend this place for wednesday nights

Oh Brightside, you haven't changed one bit. From the first moment I moved down the street from you 7 years ago, I knew it would be love. And by love I mean, bliss while I am in the restaurant, possibly after a couple pitchers of beer and a $1 shot or 4, but when I get home I immediately feel like showering, getting a Tetanus shot, and popping a handful of TUMS. While cleanliness is not your strong suit, your food, while mostly fried, is delicious in all of its dive glory. When I'm ready to have a burger and I don't want to cook, I don't turn to Wendy's or 5 Guys, I turn to your Black and Blue burger. Sure it's a little greasy, but a little grease won't kill anyone, especially when you have a raging hangover. Your boiled crawfish have taken a slide over the past couple of years, but don't worry, I'll faithfully be back to try them again this year and I have confidence in you that you will bring them back to their original glory. All jokes aside y'all, the service may be lacking a vast majority of the time, it may not be the cleanest dive in the world, but their roast beef poboy is money in the biggest way. The gravy is thick and meaty and juicy and not salty and its dripping down your arms while you are eating the sandwich and it's so good, that if you DON'T lick your fingers after you eat it, people will stare at you and wonder who the hell you think you are. If you go into this beloved establishment knowing what to expect, a DIVE in the first degree with decent food, cheap booze, and sometimes decent service, you will have a great time at Brightside. Please, don't bring your sky high expectations in here and ruin your experience (as well as the experience of the people around you). Love Brightside Bar and Grill for what she is, because she ain't changing any time soon.

I like this restaurant primarily when they have the all you can eat crawfish specials. Other than that this is a nice place for people in the area to go and have a drink and maybe some bar food. The patio is nice in the evening when not too cold.

I finally wandered in after moving to the neighborhood back in January. I debated continually whether or not to try this place--the outer aesthetics gave me some hesitation, but I made the plunge after seeing that fellow Yelpers had gone on to post reviews. For me it was like wandering into the Twilight Zone. . . or maybe a Tarantino flick. . . but hands down, absolutely the BEST burger I've ever had! Soft, tender, juicy, and HUGE! I'd guess the burgers are never frozen, ground on-site, and hand pressed patties. And a great value for around $7!

The food here is probably the best bar food in the area. On the other hand the service is the slowest I've ever seen. If you come here with the intent of doing a "power hour" you're better off drinking at home. If they would speed up their service, I would definitely give them another star.

Bad service, food was mediocre. They have $1 burger specials but you get what you pay for
